Our Story
Founded on a Simple Belief
National Public School was founded in 1988 by a small group of educators who believed that a school could be both academically rigorous and genuinely warm. What began as a single day school with 60 students has grown into a full day-cum-boarding campus serving over 1,400 students from Nursery through Grade 12, while holding onto that founding belief: every child deserves to be known, not just taught.
The boarding program was introduced in 2003 to serve families from outside Kanpur who wanted the same close attention for their children living on campus. Today, boarders and day scholars share classrooms, playing fields, and a dining hall — one community, two ways of experiencing it.

Dr. Meera Kapoor
Principal
With over 22 years in CBSE education and a doctorate in Educational Leadership, Dr. Kapoor joined NPS in 2014 and has led the school's academic growth and its expansion into full boarding facilities.
Ashok Bhatt
Vice Principal, Academics
A physics educator turned administrator, Mr. Bhatt oversees curriculum planning across all grades and chairs the school's STEM initiatives committee.
Priya Sinha
Head of Boarding
Priya has run residential programs for 15 years and personally oversees house-parent training, boarder wellbeing, and weekend programming.
